Homemade Spiced Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients
1 (12 ounce) bag fresh cranberries
1 cup sugar
1 Orange
1 cinnamon stick
3 cardamom seeds
1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
pinch of salt
water
Directions
Rinse cranberries and pick out any bad ones. Add cleaned berries to a medium sauce pan.
Clean orange well. Zest orange into sauce pan. Juice orange into a measuring cup. Add enough water to make 1 cup of liquid.
Add liquid to sauce pan along with the sugar, cinnamon stick, cardamom seeds, grated ginger, and a pinch of salt.
Cook on low heat until berries pop, and sauce thickens. Let cool in pan for a few minutes, and then transfer to serving dish.
May be served warm, or chilled.
